The 2010 Field Hockey Team enjoyed a dream season. They finished 20-3 and reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Division III Tournament. They outscored the opposition 74-20 and a had a stretch late in the year where they did not allow a goal for nearly eight hours of play.

That year’s team scored at least one goal in every game and had 12 shutout wins. In 2010, four Eastern players earned All-Region Honors, nine were named All-Freedom Conference, and two earned NFHCA All-America Honors. Over half the starting line-up in the 1-0 Sweet 16 win over Stevens Institute of Technology would earn NFHCA All-Region Honors at some point in their career.

In a five-day stretch, the Eagles earned 1-0 wins over Messiah and TCNJ. The 2010 Eastern Eagles have to be on a pretty short list of teams with wins over those two programs in a single season. They also had big non-league wins over Montclair State, Rowan, and Alvernia.

On their way to an unbeaten run through the Freedom Conference, the Eagles outscored league-opponents 35-6. They did not allow a goal in the Freedom Conference Tournament .
