Hall of Honor
Maria Horning joined Eastern's Hall of Honor in 2017. As a four-time All-American setter for Eastern University Women's Volleyball, Horning was a driving force behind moving the program into national prominence. Eastern Volleyball went into the AVCA Top-25 midway through her freshman season, and the Eagles stayed there for the next nine seasons.
Horning earned four MAC Freedom Player of the Year Awards and was twice named as a CoSIDA Academic All-America. Her exceptional skill on the volleyball court was matched by her leadership and commitment to excellence.
In her time at Eastern, the Eagles went 133-15 and only lost one game to an unranked team. Eastern reached the NCAA Final Four in her senior season.
