On the basketball court, Meghan Nowak Rost was a dominant force for four years. She finished her Eastern career with nearly 2,000 points and just under 1,000 rebounds. She is second on Eastern's career list in both categories. Nowak earned All-America honors, was twice named MAC Freedom Player of the Year, and was  National Rookie of the Year in her first season. In her time, Eastern made four trips to the conference tournament and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Nowak shot over 50 percent from the floor and over 77 percent from the foul line. She had one of her 46 career double-doubles in Eastern’s 88-87 overtime win over the defending National Champion FDU-Florham Devils. She scored 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and threw in five blocks and five steals in 44 minutes to help snap the Devils’ 53-game winning streak. Later that season, she scored 21 points, and was 3-of-3 from behind the arc, to lift the Eagles to a 72-63 MAC Freedom Tournament win over DeSales.
