Hall of Honor
Josey Rupert Acosta was inducted into Eastern's Hall of Honor on Sept. 13, 2025. She is the first female athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Honor as a cross country runner. She was introduced by former coach Mike Wilson '10.
Acosta is the only Eastern Cross Country runner to win an Individual MAC Championship. She pulled away from the field to win the 2014 race by over 10 seconds. She finished 5th in the MAC Championships in 2013. Her success on the course proved to be a driving force in creating a Track and Field Program at Eastern. She ran track meets in 2014 and 2015 as an unattached runner and still sits atop the Eastern all-time list in the 10,000 Meter run.
