Hall of Honor committee member Joe Tatta presented Don Gough as the third member of the inaugural class.

In 1967, Tatta presented Gough with the Alumni Association award when Gough was a graduating senior. Gough was a standout tennis player and self-described "pine-time player" in basketball at Eastern. He lead the tennis team to a pair of undefeated regular seasons and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Gough was senior class president. Since he graduated in 1967, Gough took the lessons he learned as an Eastern student-athlete and has done great things. The President of Gough Management Company served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Eastern University. He has been a valued leader in his church and community.

Gough received his honor wearing his Eastern letter jacket. His stories of days past gave the current student-athletes a great sense of history for the athletic department at Eastern. In addition, Gough shared a basketball story that became a life-changing moment for him.He challenged the student-athletes to learn from his lesson and to never quit until the game was over.

Gough was joined by his wife, whom he met at Eastern, his two sons, and several close friends.
