The 1987-1988 men’s basketball team was one of the most successful men’s basketball teams in Eastern history and had six players reach at least 1,000 career points. Coached by Hall of Honor member Nate Ware, the 87-88 squad won 30 games while only losing six times. The team won the NAIA District 19 title and advanced the NAIA national tournament. 

The members of the 87-88 team are: Allen Lester, Anthony Hightower, Rob Dickson, Kevin MacMillan, Jim West, Orlando Walters, Irv Hutcherson, Keith Wilkerson, Jerry Cobb, Arnold Johnson, Barry Craver, Mike McCarron, Sam Boone, Terry McDuffie, and Tim Clark.
