College Sports Communicators, the official organization of collegiate sports information professionals announced its Academic All-District lists for the fall season. For their work on the field and in the classroom, Eastern University Women's Soccer had three individuals recognized as Academic All-District performers.
Tia Argento,
Emma Bennett, and
Ella Sedor each earned recognition for their performance on the field and in the classroom.
Bennett, a senior Exercise Science major from Thorndale, Pa. earned Second-Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors as a forward. She is a three-time all-league performer who played a major role in helping the Eagles to win advance to three-straight MAC Commonwealth Tournaments and win 21 games over the last two seasons. In her career, Bennett scored ten ties and added 11 assists.
Argento, a junior Computer Science and Data Science Major had a breakout season on the field. The Bayville, N.J. native started 17 matches in the middle of the back and was instrumental in helping the Eagles to secure 12 clean sheets on the year. Messiah was the only team to score more than a single goal against the Eagles in a match when Argento played. League coaches recognized her dynamic ball-winning and organizational strength and selected her to the All-MAC Commonwealth First Team.
For most of the minutes of the year, Sedor played next to Argento in the middle of the back row. The junior Nursing major from Bloomsburg, Pa. played in 18 matches in the back row. In addition to her ability to read the play and win balls, she provided steady distribution and composure to help the Eagles maintain possession and build an attack. Sedor has played in 56 matches with 53 starts in her first three seasons.
To be recognized as Academic All-District CSC, an individual needs to either play in 90 percent of her team's games or start in two thirds of a team's matches and carry at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA through at least two full semesters at their current institution.
