Methodist University Monarchs in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader.

10-1. The Monarchs are already 8-5 this season and have a 20-1 win over the No.
3 team in the nation on their resume.
The Eagles, 0-4, after being on a real field for just
Tuesday and Wednesday, tallied five hits in each game. Eastern's four through
seven batters in game one produced those base knocks. Angelo Kelly, Andrew
Check and Timmy Gorton each had a hit and Joe Grato had two. Grato knocked in
one of the Eagles' three runs. Mike McCracken and Peter Crawford added the
other two.

In game two Check, Kelly, and Gorton each had a hit again as
did Eric Rossi and Kehr. The Eagles took the first lead of the game in the top
of the third. Check doubled to left center and then stole third. Kelly batted
an infield single that allowed Check to score. However, after the third inning,
the Eagles only recorded one more hit.
Tommy Strazza, a freshman, pitched three scoreless innings
to start his college career, but was knocked around for five runs in the fifth,
three from a home run, and picked up the loss.
The Eagles' barnstorming trip continues with a doubleheader
at Lynchburg on Friday starting at noon.
