PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) today released its Academic All-Area list for the 2026 Baseball season. The group recognized a pair of Eastern University student-athletes with a spot on the team. The team recognizes excellence on the field and in the classroom and is selected by vote from Sports Information Directors from the 30 area college and universities. Trent MacDougall and
Thomas Kozlusky joined athletes from Ursinus, Haverford, Rowan, Arcadia, West Chester, Chestnut Hill and Swarthmore on the prestigious list.
MacDougall, who earned a spot on the All-Region 5 Second Team and the All-MAC Commonwealth First Team as an outfielder, was named to the Philly-SIDA team for the first time in his career. The Boynton Beach, Fla. native scored a program recored 48 runs and, together with Kozlusky, broke the program's stolen bases record with 30 steals on 32 attempts. After not hitting a home run in his first two years, MacDougall hit a team-high six in 2026, while also leading the team with 53 hits and 12 doubles. His 1.174 OPS was the fourth highest in a single season in program history.
MacDougall, who was also named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year, played a perfect center field, converting all 95 of his chances with 93 putouts and a pair of outfield assists without committing an error.
Kozlusky was also named to the Philly-SIDA team for the first time in his career. The senior left fielder started all 40 games was productive wherever he hit in the order. After moving to the No. 2 spot, he reached base in over 45 percent of his plate appearances. In 21 conference games, Kozluksy hit a robust .413 and recorded 31 hits. In his senior season, the Quakertown native was second on the team with 47 hits and 11 doubles while hitting .356.
In the field, Kozlusky converted 66 putouts and one outfield assist while committing just one error. The senior was also named Eastern's male Senior-Scholar Athlete.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least their second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. Haverford's Sam Cohen was named the 2026 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Baseball Performer of the Year.
