NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released the final Academic All-MAC lists for 2025 Spring Sports. By earning a spot on the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field list,
Hailey Shreffler earned her third Academic All-MAC honor this year.
The senior biochemistry and math major from Nesquehoning, Pa. enjoyed a tremendous spring on the outside oval. During the year, Shreffler set new program records and earned All-Metro Region Honors in the 800 Meter Run, the 1500 Meter Run, and the 5,000 Meter Run. When she won both the 800 and 1500 at the MAC Championships and helped two relay teams to reach the podium, Shreffler earned MAC Outdoor Track and Field Track Athlete of the Year honors.
The following week, she shattered her own program record in the 800 Meters with a 2:09.87 effort that put her into the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships against the deepest women's 800 field in the meet's history. With a 12th-place finish in the event, she earned Second-Team All-America honors. She was named Eastern's Female Athlete of the Year.
Shreffler is as strong in the classroom as she is on the track. She balanced an intense class schedule with internships and research opportunities in her field.
It is the second Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC Honor for Shreffler who has now been honored in four consecutive seasons of competition.
In January of 2022, Shreffler ran a 2:38.78 in her first collegiate 800 Meters. She first broke the 2:20 barrier with a 2:19.01 mark in late April of 2024. She holds program records in three outdoor events and two events inside. She is the fourth Eastern woman to earn Academic All-MAC Honors for Track and Field. Mary Bernotas ('21 and '22) and Nicole Weenink ('18 and '19) also earned recognition in two seasons. Both athletes competed at National Championships in those seasons and lost a season of competition in 2020. Each would have been a strong candidate for that recognition had that season happened.) Kierra Zack earned the honor in 2019 when she was named MAC Track Athlete of the Year and ran the 1500 Meters at the NCAA Championships. This season there were 445 women competing in Track and Field in the MAC.
Student-Athletes need at least a 3.2 semester GPA to be nominated for Academic All-MAC recognition. The 10 honorees on the 2025 Academic All-MAC squad each earned All-Region honors and posted a 3.85 average GPA. The group combined to win 12 individual events at the MAC Championships and five of those individuals competed at the NCAA Championships. The team was selected by votes from Sports Information Directors from the MAC.
