CHESTER, Pa.– In a successful weekend at the Danny Curran Invitational, Eastern University Women's Track and Field set two new program marks and qualified several individuals for MAC Championships in two beautiful days for competing.
Savana Dodd won the Shot Put with a very solid 11.92 meter effort. She is currently seeded second in the event in the MAC.
Hailey Shreffler ran for a new program record int he 5,000 Meters. Shreffler ran the event once inside and earned All-Region Honors. She finished fifth overall and fourth among DIII competitors while breaking the mark set by Kierra Zack in 2019. her 17:39 beat the previous mark by nearly 19 seconds.
Julia Wade also qualified for MAC Championships in the event.
Tierra Hill and
Kayleigh Newsome both turned in top-ten performances in the 10,000 meters. The duo qualified for MAC Championships in the 25-lap race.
Ahnarie Anderson set the other program record in the 400 Hurdles. Running a 1:06.88 over the barriers for a full lap, she broke her own mark and finished fourth in the race. De'Nair Drew ran MAC qualifying times in the 100 Meter Hurdles and the 200 Meters.
Diamond Dixon set a PR with a 27.01 run in the 200 Meters.
Destiny Barlow qualified for MAC Championships and hit a personal best 9.55 in the Triple Jump.
Kayla Jefferson,
Desirae Majett,
Tyla Cooper, and Dixon finished third in the 4 x 10 Meter Relay to move into sixth on Eastern's all-time list int he event.

Will Mills said, "Was to use the good weather and great competition to develop consistency in our performances."
The Eagles are at Millersville next weekend.
