READING, Pa. - On Saturday, Eastern Track and Field wrapped up the MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship at the PLEX at Alvernia. Sophomore
Aliza White-Vega finished Third-Team All-MAC in the pole vault, and four individuals scored points for the Eagles. The men scored 19 points over the two-day event, while the women finished with 15 points.
White-Vega capped off a strong indoor season, clearing 3.30 meters to claim third place and Third Team All-MAC honors for the second time in the pole vault in her collegiate career.
Paige Carpenter also finished in the top-five in the pole vault, placing fifth with a vault of 3.20 m, while
Divora Bekele placed fifth in the triple jump, setting a personal record at 10.63 m. Bekele also finished with a career-best in the long jump, placing eighth with a distance of 5.03 m.
On the men's side,
Andre Taylor placed fourth in the long jump with a personal best jump of 6.61 m, while Jean Michelet-Andre finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles (8.69).
"We had a day," Eastern Head Coach
Will Mills said. "We battled over these past two days and did the best we could. I'm very proud of this team and the things we were able to accomplish together this indoor season. We'll take some much needed rest and get ready for outdoor season."
Eastern Track and Field will begin its outdoor season at the Monarch Invitational on Saturday, March 18 at 11:00 am.
