Women's Track and Field Races at Widener

CHESTER, Pa.— Savana Dodd shattered her own program-record in winning the Shot Put, and Gisella Croge ran a huge PR in the open 800 Meters to highlight a solid weekend of performances at the Paul Donohue Invitational hosted by Widener University.

Dodd finished seventh in the Hammer and 13th in the Discus. The junior bested the field by over a foot in the Shot Put. Her 13.37 was nearly a full half meter beyond her previous program-best set at last year's MAC Championships. As impressive, she put all six of her attempts out past 12.6 meters and broke the 13-meter mark three times. Only one other athlete in the field threw beyond 12 meters. Not including today's results across the country, she moved into the top 20 in the event.

Croge ran a personal best 2:20.83 last weekend. The sophomore from Haddonfield demolished that mark witha. fourth-place run in today's race. Whe went out aggressively and came home well to finish in 2:16.98. That mark puts her fifth in program history. Three of the four individuals who have run faster have earned All-America Honors. Hailey Shreffler, Eastern's record holder, first broke the 2:17 mark at MAC Championships in her junior season.

Aniya Stevenshad solid runs in the 100 and 200, and Anahrie Anderson ran just off her personal best in the 400 Meter Hurdles.

The Eagles will continue to push for MAC qualifying times at Elizabethtown next weekend and will compete at the MAC Championships the following weekend.
