LANCASTER, Pa. - For its fourth meet of the 2022-2023 season, Eastern Track and Field took part in the Blue and White Invitational at Franklin & Marshall on Friday evening. The Eagles ended the day with six top-five finishers, two event winners, and multiple PR's.
Divora Bekele put together a stout performance for Eastern. The senior set personal bests in both the triple jump and long jump, placing first (10.51 m) and third (5.00 m), respectively.
Aliza White-Vega and
Paige Carpenter continued their strong season in the pole vault with a 1-2 finish as both cleared 3.33 m (10'11"). For Carpenter, her clear of 3.33 m was a personal record.
Hailey Shreffler finished fourth in the mile run and recorded her second fastest time in the event at 5:29.5.
For the men,
Jean-Michelet Andre placed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.81. Additionally,
DaNeal Williams finished seventh in the 400 meter with a season-best time of 53.32, while
Chandler Koehler placed sixth in the 60 meter with a time of 7.28.
"We had a good day," Eastern Head Coach
Will Mills said. "Athletes achieved season and all-time personal bests, qualified for conference, or just in general put together a really great performance. I am very happy with the showing we had today. Each week we get better and more exciting to watch."
Eastern Track and Field will be back in action next Saturday at Susquehanna for the Susquehanna Tune-Up. Events begin at 9:30 am.
