Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CARY, N.C.—Eastern University Baseball played Lynchburg College at the USA Baseball Complex on Friday after snowfall made Lynchburg's field unplayable.

One really bad inning spoiled the Eagles' first game and they fell 11-1. In the second game, the Eagles fell behind by five runs and stormed back with three runs in the top of the seventh but were unable to complete the comeback. Lynchburg took game two 6-4.

In game one, the Eagles were held to two hits, and Lynchburg exploded with 10 runs in the third.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Lynchburg led by three after four innings. Eastern posted its first run in fifth on an infield error. Lynchburg made it a 5-1 game in the fifth after a two-RBI double and then added another run in the sixth.

Eastern's Joe Grato hit a bases-loaded single that scored Ryan McMenamin and Tommy Strazza. Angelo Kelly was gunned down at home on the play. Timmy Gorton later knocked in Grato from second with a base hit. The Eagles posted three runs in the inning, but the comeback fell short.

Eastern is scheduled to play next at Johns Hopkins University on March 10 at 3 p.m.
