ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Eastern Baseball tumbled 12-1 to Haverford
College after six completed innings on Wednesday afternoon. The Fords scored three more runs in the top of the seventh, but the game was called during Eastern's half of the inning as Wednesday's snowstorm continued to get worse.
The Eagles struggled to put anything together offensively, scattering five hits through six innings. Eastern's leadoff batter Ryan McMenamin scored in the top of the first after walking, stealing third and then coming home on an error by the catcher.
Eagles' pitcher Tom Gordon battled through five innings, allowing five hits and five walks while only giving up three earned runs.
The Eagles were still right in the game until the sixth inning when the Fords plated eight runs on five hits and five walks in the inning.
Eastern second baseman Ryan Kehr had the best day at the plate for the Eagles, going 2-for-3. Ryan McMenamin, Tyler Orr and Joseph De Los Santos had the Eagles other hits in the game. Orr and De Los Santos each had doubles.
The Eagles are scheduled to play at Swarthmore on Wednesday, depending on the weather, and then will play conference-opponent Misericordia this weekend.
