The Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead to start the doubleheader, but the Devils responded with three runs in the bottom of the first and kept the Eagles from scoring the rest of the game. Eagles' pitcher Korey McCormack went four innings and was tabbed with the loss.
Eastern pitcher Barry Jost, who had a masterful shutout performance in his previous start, got off on the wrong foot to start game two. The Devils accumulated 10 runs in the bottom of the first to give themselves plenty of breathing room the rest of the game. The Eagles put together eight runs the rest of the game, but that 10-spot in the first proved to be the difference.
The Eagles picked up 12 hits in the second game and had three players with multiple hits: Eric Rossi (2-for-4), Joseph De Los Santos (2-for-4) and Joe Grato (3-for-4).
Eastern is scheduled to host Haverford College on Tuesday, but there is snow in the forecast that day, so continue to check back on goeasterneagles.com for schedule updates.
