Baseball Loses At Gwynedd Mercy

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.--Eastern University Baseball fell 4-1 at Gwynedd Mercy College on Wednesday afternoon in the final non-conference contest of the year.

Eastern drops to 20-15 this season with the loss.

The Eagles scattered seven hits over nine innings and scored their only run in the third inning on an RBI-single by Dave Prager that scored Andre Butler. Prager increased his team-high RBI total to 35. Butler went 2-for-3 at the plate for his 15th multi-hit game of the season.

Gwynedd Mercy's pitcher Andrew Schaefer threw nine innings while striking out five and walking none.

Eastern used three pitchers in the game, with starter Greg Lukasik picking up the loss. Lukasik allowed two runs and three hits over four innings. He fanned two batters and walked one. Lucas Bremerman and John Taylor allowed two runs total over a combined four innings of relief.

The Eagles finish the season with a series against Misericordia. The Eagles will play at home on Friday at 3:30 pm. The Eagles will be keeping an eye on Manhattanville's scoreboard this weekend as the Eagles need to win one more game than Manhattanville this weekend to earn the final playoff spot.
