EDWARDSVILLE, Pa.--Eastern University Baseball allowed six runs in the
sixth inning en route to a 14-7 at the hands of the Wilkes University
Colonels on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles recorded 12 hits in the loss, but left 10 runners on the basepath.
Eagles' pitcher Ernie Stiegler was tabbed with the loss, dropping to 2-2 this season. In 3.0 innings pitched, Stiegler struck out six batters, but allowed eights runs, five of which were earned.
Three Eagles batted multi-hit games. Brendan Spall connected for three hits in four at bats, Dave Prager returned to the starting lineup and batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Dillon Schwartzer knocked in three runs while batting 2-for-4 with a home run to left field.
The Eagles continue the series against Wilkes on Saturday with a double-header starting at noon.
