NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference office today release weekly awards for the final week of the regular season. With two more wins and 20 strikeouts, Emily Trzonkowski picks up her fifth MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week honor. The Eastern rookie ran her record to 15-0 with complete-game wins at DeSales an Widener.

In a 4-1 win at DeSales, Trzonkowski struck out nine to go over 100 for the year. With Eastern leading 3-0 in the sixth, the Bulldogs converted a leadoff walk in the sixth into a run with a sacrifice bunt and the single, but they would get no more. DeSales had only three hits in the game, and their only extra-base hit came on a two-out double in the third inning. 

On Friday, Trzonkowski closed out the conference slate with a shutout win at Widener. The Eagles won 6-0 , but they did not score their second run until the fifth innning. She struck out 11 Widener hitters and held the Pride to five singles. On the week she walked just one hitter and hit just one. 

The second-seeded Eagles will open the MAC Commonwealth Tournament against York at 1:00 PM at Messiah.
