NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference office today released weekly honors for the week ending March 21. With a pair of standout wins, Eastern University pitcher Emily Trzonkowski claimed her first MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week honor. 

Trzonkowski kept her strong start to the season going with her two wins. On Wednesday, the first-year from Middletown, Del. outlasted Swarthmore ace Lily Goldberg to lead the Eagles to a 2-1 eight-inning win. Trzonkowski did not give up a hit until the bottom of the seventh inning. She worked around a lead-off double and an infield single to send the game to extra innings where the Eagles won in eight. She allowed only two hits over eight innings to beat the defending Centennial Conference champions. Goldberg was the 2025 National Freshman of the year. 

Her strong start against Swarthmore was a continuation of the work she did the week before. She faced the minimum in a five-inning no-hitter against York. 

On Saturday, she picked up her sixth win of the year without a loss with a run-shortened win over Hood. 

The Eagles (11-3)  are scheduled to open the home portion of their season against No. 16 Rowan on Wednesday before hosting Albright in a league-doubleheader on Saturday.
