NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released weekly honors for the week ending March 21. For the second time this spring, Eastern's
Brennan Moloughney has been recognized as the MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week.
The junior left-hander from Neptune, N.J. spun a complete-game shutout against Hood. He struck out six hitters and allowed only four singles in shutting down the Blazer offense over Eastern's 4-0 win. He threw 105 pitches on the way to his third victory of the year. With the shutout win, he become the first Eastern pitcher to toss two complete-game shutouts in a season since Matt Wienand did it in 1994.
Over his past four starts, Moloughney has allowed only one earned run and 12 hits while striking out 26 hitters over 25.2 innings of work. He has walked only six hitters in nearly 30 innings of work.
He also earned Pitcher of the Week Honors on March 10.
The Eagles will host Washington College on Wednesday in a non-league test before a crucial MAC Commonwealth series against Albright College this weekend.
