NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released its Academic All-MAC Football squad for the 2025 season. Eastern University Football put three players on this year's team. Veteran quarterback
Brett Nabb earned his third Academic All-MAC Honor, and kicker Jon Nolek and cornerback Tahjere Jackson Alston each picked up their first honor.
Nabb earned MAC Offensive Player of the Year while leading the Eagles to a MAC Championship and into the third round of the NCAA Tournament. An All-Region performer, he is close to completing his MBA. He ran for four touchdowns in Eastern's NCAA Tournament win at Franklin & Marshall.
Jackson-Alston earned All-MAC and D3football.com All-Region recognition as a dominating cover corner. The senior Business Administration major from Philadelphia finished the year with 42 tackles for a defense that was ranked at or near the top of every category in the league. League opponents scored only five passing touchdowns against the Eagles all year.
Including three field goals in a critical mid-season win over Delaware Valley, Nolek made big kicks all season long. In the game against the Aggies, he hit a season-best 45-yarder at the end of the half to tie the score and flip the momentum of the game. The Marketing major from Aston, Pa. was 37-of-39 on extra points and consistently kicked deep on kick-offs to help the Eagles win the field position battle.
Academic All-MAC teams are selected by vote for performance in the classroom and in competition from nominees of all 10 MAC Institutions. While an individual has to earn at least a 3.2 semester GPA to be nominated, the group average of the honorees was over a 3.7 GPA. Twenty-one of the 22 honorees earned All-MAC Recognition, and several earned All-Region and All-America honors.
Eastern University Football earned a MAC Championship in the program's third season of varsity competition.
