Women's Wrestling Picked to Win at First MAC Championships

NEWTOWN, Pa.— The Middle Atlantic Conference office released the pre-championship poll for the league's first-ever Women's Wrestling Championships which will be held at Delaware Valley University this Sunday. League coaches picked Eastern University as the pre-championship favorites in the Tournament style event.

With wrestlers in only eight of the ten weight classes, the Eastern's first-year program will need to perform well in each class to earn a first league title. York, picked second, is a third-year program, with competitors in every weight class. The Eagles won an early-season dual between the two programs.

Alvernia and Arcadia are picked behind York with Delaware Valley and Misericordia as the final two teams in the poll.

Over the year, the  Eagles have had success across the board against MAC opponents, but at various events York wrestlers have earned wins over the Eagles in four weight classes.

The Eagles are at Frostburg State for a final tune-up tonight.
