NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference today announced weekly honors for the week ending Jan 25, 2026. Eastern Men's Track and Field swept the weekly awards as sophomores
Ian Hopkins and
Jeric Lewis were named the Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in their careers.
Lewis, after breaking Eastern's eight-year triple jump record last weekend at Alvernia, broke it again at F&M on Saturday, The sophomore from Adairsville, Ga. recorded five legal jumps, all of which were over 14 meters. His final jump of the day went 14.55, breaking his previous mark of 14.42. Lewis is now ranked second in the MAC, fourth in the Metro Region, and 12th nationally in the event.
Hopkins, who hails from Fanwood, N.J., won the 60m Hurdles at F&M on Saturday with a time of 8.47. Hopkins hold the program record in the event, running 8.24 at the Diplomat Open back in December. Hopkins ranks first in the MAC and sixth in the Metro Region in the event.
Lewis and Hopkins become the fifth and sixth Eastern Men's Track and Field athletes to win a MAC weekly awards.
Ni'Male Greenwood and
Lawrence Day swept the awards last December, while former Eagles Evan Wildermuth was named the AOTW in Feb. 2019 and March 2020.
Eastern Track and Field will be back in action for the Schuylkill Showcase this weekend at the Ott Center.
