NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference office today announced all-conference lists and special awards for Softball. Eastern Softball was well represented as league coaches honored six Eagles with All-MAC Commonwealth recognition. As of this writing, Eastern holds a 29-9 record and a 12-2 mark in conference play, and advanced to its second straight MAC Commonwealth Championship this past weekend.
Three Eagles -
Danika Barthol,
Emily Kurth, and
Ainsley O'Donnell - were named All-MAC Commonwealth First Team. Three others -
Jania Long,
Maura Yoos, and
Mackenzie Laub - were named to the Second Team.
Barthol, a sophomore from Emmaus, earned her second-straight All-MAC Commonwealth First-Team selection. Barthol led the Eagles with 97 innings pitched, nine complete games, two shutouts, and 87 strikeouts. She finished second on the team with a 2.24 ERA and 12 wins, and also finished second in opposing batting average at .239. In the league, she finished third in ERA, tied for third in wins, and fourth in strikeouts. She also hit well at the dish this season, batting .367 with 11 hits, four doubles, two home runs, and five RBIs. She recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts against Adrian back on March 2, and finished with a pair of hits and runs scored against Alvernia on April 5.
Kurth, a first-year from Toms River, N.J., had a tremendous first season for Eastern Softball, being named the 2025 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year and earning First Team honors as a catcher. She is the third straight Eagle, following Laub in 2023 and Barthol last spring, to earn the prestigious accolade. She ranked first on the Eagles with 11 doubles, and was second with a .398 batting average, 45 hits, and 33 RBIs. In the league, she ranked fifth in batting average, sixth in both doubles and RBIs, and eighth in hits. After going hitless in her first collegiate game, Kurth went on to record a 14-game hitting streak, the longest since Ashton Tomlinson's 24-game hit streak back in 2015.
Kurth recorded hits in 27 of Eastern's 38 games, and collected multiple knocks in 15 of those contests. She had three-hit games against Bendictine, Widener, and Rosemont, and also recorded a season-high two doubles and three RBIs against the Ravens on March 11.
O'Donnell, a sophomore from North Pocono, earned her second straight All-MAC Commonwealth honor and her first First-Team selection. She finished her sophomore campaign with a .366 batting average, third among players on the team who qualified, 21 runs scored, 30 hits, six doubles, and 15 RBIs. She was first on the team in on-base percentage, drawing a team-high 18 walks and six hit by pitches. Her .505 on-base percentage was also fourth in the league. O'Donnell recorded a pair of three-hit games against Neumann and Stevenson, and also recorded four two-RBI games. She drew five walks in Eastern's game one win over York back on March 22.
Long, a senior from Deptford, N.J., had a career-best season in the circle to earn her second All-MAC Second Team selection and her third All-MAC honor in four seasons. She posted career-bests with a 2.13 ERA, 13 wins, six complete games, only 24 earned runs allowed, and a .239 opposing batting average. Her ERA, wins, and opposing batting average led the Eagles, while her 39 strikeouts were second after Barthol. In the league, she ranked second in ERA, opposing batting average, and wins, while ranking third in earned runs allowed.
At the dish, Long hit .343 with 23 hits, five doubles, a triple, two home runs and 14 RBIs. On March 11, she combined with
Bryn Clifford to throw a seven-inning perfect game against Rosemont, the first for the Eagles since Kristine Rosko's perfect game, also against Rosemont, in 2008. Her three-run, walkoff bomb against York on March 22 clinched the Eagles' first series sweep of the Spartans since 2015.
The Eagles had a pair of outstanding rookies in 2025, the other being Yoos, who earned All-MAC Second-Team honors after a remarkable first season playing shortstop. Starting all 38 games at one of the toughest positions in the infield, the first-year from Warrington led the Eagles with a .434 batting average, 30 runs scored, and a pair of triples. In conference play, she dominated, leading the league with a robust .615 batting average while also being tied for first with 24 hits. She also ranked second with a .667 on-base percentage and was fifth with a 1.359 OPS in conference play. Her .434 batting average ranked fourth across the entire MAC Commonwealth.
Yoos had hits in 28 of Eastern's 38 games to go along with 14 multi-hit contests. She went 4-for-4 against Benedictine over Spring Break, and drove in a season-high four runs against Alvernia on April 5.
Laub, a junior from Whitehall, was Eastern's final honoree, earning Second-Team honors as an outfielder. Laub finished with a career-high 26 RBIs, third-most for the Eagles this season, while batting .352. She was tied for second with 29 runs scored, tied for third with 37 hits, and tied for fourth with eight doubles. She finished with hits in 22 of Eastern's 38 games and recorded 15 multi-hit contests. She scored three runs in games against Neumann and Alvernia, and recorded a season-high three hits against Messiah on April 17.
The NCAA Division III Selection Show will be held on Monday as the Eagles hope to earn a regional berth.
