MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Eastern Women's Track and Field competed at the 42nd annual Millersville Metrics this past weekend in Millersville. Four individuals and two relay teams scored points for the Eagles, who placed seventh of out 16 teams with a score of 45.
Hailey Shreffler continued to light it up on the track, recording a new DIII Top-25 time in the 800m. The Nesquehoning, Pa. native finished first in the event with a time of 2:15.86.
Julia Wade scored six points with a third place finish in the 3k Steeple (11:59.76).
Anahrie Anderson placed fourth in the 200m with a new PR of 27.04, as well as fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:00.98.
Savana Dodd also collected a pair of top-eight finishes, placing fifth in the Shot Put and sixth in the hammer throw.
In the relays, the Eastern 4x100 team of
Kayla Jefferson,
Desirae Majett,
Tyla Cooper, and
Diamond Dixon finished fifth with a time of 52.58. Lastly, in the 4x400, the Eagles' grouping of
Janitza Hernandez-Albino, Shreffler,
Gisella Croge, and Anderson finished second with a time of 4:14.95.
"We had some solid performances today," Eastern Head Coach
Will Mills said. "The goal this week was to work on our race strategies during competition and to fine tune the little details in the field events. I am proud of what we accomplished as a team."
Eastern will be back in action next weekend at the TCNJ Multi and Invitational.
