With a condensed schedule of the holiday weekend, Eastern University Women's Track and Field posted marks at two different Invitationals. Eastern's throwers threw at Millersville University and the rest of the squad competed at a meet with athletes from all three NCAA Divisions at Johns Hopkins.
Savana Dodd placed in three different events and set a program-record in the Hammer. Her 41.81 Meter toss broke the team mark by over eight feet. She is the first Eastern woman to throw over 40 meters. Dodd finished second in the Shot Put and fifth in the Discus.
At Hopkins,
Hailey Shreffler delivered another strong performance against a very good field in the 800 Meters. She ran a season-best 2:12.34 to win the race. That time is the top time in the MAC this spring and is the 21st best time in Division III nationally. Shreffler ran a 2:11.1 at the Widener LCQ last year to put her into the field for the National Meet. She ran a 2:19.01 at this meet last year. Shreffler also ran a strong leg on the 4 x 400 Meter Relay squad. Giselle Croge ran a personal record 2:23.05 in the event.
Anahrie Anderson ran a program-record 1:06.79 in the 400 Hurdles and
Am'yra Johnson ran a personal record 15.65 in the 100 Meter Hurdles to place sixth in that event.
In another event over barriers,
Kayleigh Newsome ran a MAC Qualifying 13:12.55 in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
The Eagles have one final meet to prep for the MAC Championships which will be held at York College starting May 1.
