NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference today released weekly awards for the week ending Nov. 2, 2025.
Jason Bateman earned his second straight Defensive Player of the Honor following a historic effort from the Eastern defense in its 35-0 win over Widener.
Bateman, who hails from Upper Darby, led the Eagles with nine tackles, seven of which were solo, to go along with a sack, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. The Eagles' 35-0 victory was the first shutout in program history, and moved the Eagles to 7-1 with two games left to play.
After not having a DPOTW honor in its first two seasons, Bateman becomes the first player in program history to earn back-to-back weekly accolades. It is the eighth weekly honor for Eastern Football this season.
Eastern (7-1, 6-1) returns home to Radnor Street Road on Saturday to take on FDU-Florham on Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
