READING, Pa. - Eastern Women's Track and Field began its 2025 season at the Alvernia Winter Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore
Savana Dodd tied her own record in the Shot Put and placed third in the Weight Throw, while senior Haley Shreffler placed second in the Mile Run. Additionally, all four of Eastern relay teams recorded top-eight finishes.
Dodd, who holds Eastern program records in both shot put and weight throw, had another excellent day of competition. The Gibbsboro, N.J. tied her record she set at last fall's MAC Indoor Championships with a throw of 11.82 meters.
In the weight throw, her first three throws went over 14 meters, and she finished in third with a round two throw of 14.25m.
Shreffler, who set the program record in the 5000 Meter earlier this season, finished the 1 Mile Run with a time of 5:16.18. That time is good for a top-10 finish in program history.
In the relays, Eastern's 4x800 team of
Gisella Croge,
Mya Cadena, Emma Wade, and
Hailey Shreffler finished second with a time of 10:33.76. Eastern's B team of
Jessica Ferrara,
Anastasia Sider-Rose,
Erica Lewis, and
Chelsea Kipnis finished in eighth in the event.
In the 4x200,

Eastern Women's Track and Field will be back in action next weekend for a pair of events. Per the schedule, some members will compete at the Widener DIII Invitational at the Ott Center at Penn on Friday, while others will compete at the Coach I Open at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.
