NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference today released weekly awards for the week of Sept. 9-15. On the heels of a strong showing at the Trinity National Invitational over the weekend, Hannah Pringle earned her second MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Grace Casagrande collected her fourth MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

Both players played significant roles in Eastern Women's Volleyball 3-1 week, which included three-set sweeps of Endicott and Covenant down in San Antonio and a sweep of Muhlenberg in St. Davids. Eastern also went the distance with No. 11 Trinity, falling in a competitive five-set affair.

Pringle, a junior outside hitter from East Greenville, earned Trinity National Invitational MVP honors. She finished with a season-high 24 kills and hit a sparkling .345 against Trinity on Saturday evening. She also recorded 10 kills against Endicott and another 13 against Covenant in a pair of three-set wins on Friday. Pringle began the week with 14 kills against Muhlenberg at The Nest on Tuesday. Pringle currently leads Eastern with 133 kills and 3.91 kills per set.

Casagrande, a graduate libero from Coatesville, paced the Eagles' defensive effort throughout their four matches. Against Trinity, Casagrande recorded a program-record 40 digs, becoming the first player in program history to post 40 digs in a match. It was the most digs for an Eastern Women's Volleyball player since Nikki Armacost's 39 digs against Beaver College, now Arcadia University, back in 1993. In Eastern's wins over Muhlenberg, Endicott, and Covenant, Casagrande recorded a combined 46 digs.

Eastern is back in action at The Nest on Friday for a huge showdown with Christopher Newport. The match is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
