NEWTOWN, Pa.– The Middle Atlantic Conference office today released the 2023 Academic All-MAC Football Team. Following an outstanding first season for himself and for his team, Eastern quarterback
Brett Nabb earned a spot on the prestigious list.
Academic All-MAC Honorees are selected based on their achievements on the field and in the classroom in the fall semester. Nabb excelled in both spaces. To be nominated, a student-athlete needed to earn at least a 3.2 GPA in the Fall. Nabb, a Business Administration major from Avalon, N.J., finished his semester just a few hundredths of a point below a 4.0.
On the field, Nabb provided leadership to a young squad and was a true dual threat as a quarterback. He threw for five scores and ran for three more while helping Eastern's first-year program secure a pair of league wins.
In the Eagles' 21-9 win over Albright, he threw for two scores and ran for a third. He also completed 22-of-36 passes with two touchdowns in a 28-18 loss at King's and ran for a program-record 180 yards in a 26-23 overtime loss at Stevenson.
Nabb was one of 21 Eastern Football players to earn a spot on the MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
In its first year, Eastern football played its home games at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The programs new facility is near completion and will be ready for MAC competition next fall.
