Pringle Earns Weekly Honor

NEWTOWN, Pa.– The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released weekly honors for the week ending on October 26. For her outstanding productivity in a 2-0 week, Eastern University junior Hannah Pringle earned her second MAC Commonwealth Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Honor this year.

After pounding out 13 kills in a three-set win over Alvernia midweek, Pringle matched her season-high with 24 kills in a thrilling five-set win over local rival Swarthmore College. The win over the Garnet is an important result in the region for the Eagles. Pringle was held without a kill for the first set, and the Eagles fell behind with a 25-23 loss. She bounced back to hit over .350 for the final four sets.

Pringle, who also earned recognition this past September and in September of 2022, is putting away nearly four kills per set and even with that heavy volume is hitting a very solid .264. Friday's five-set win over Swarthmore was the first Eastern match to go longer than three sets since Sept 20.

Pringle has reached double-figure kills in 19-of 21 matches and is 17 kills from reaching 1000 for her career.

Pringle's weekly honor is the 21st since the Eagles joined the MAC Commonwealth in 2021. The seven players to earn that recognition are still on Eastern's roster.

The Eagles will play at Albright on Tuesday evening before finishing their regular season with a run of four home games in a week. Eastern will host NYU on Friday and Kean on Saturday to set up a huge league match-up against MAC Commonwealth co-leader Messiah on Nov. 5. Regardless of what happens to Eastern and Messiah this week, the winner of that contest will take the top spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.
