Eastern Softball Picked Second in Preseason Poll

NEWTOWN, Pa.– The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released preseason polls for the 2024 Softball Season. MAC Commonwealth Coaches picked Eastern University to finish tied with Messiah in second place. York College was picked as the favorite and garnered four first-place votes. Messiah received three first place votes, and Eastern received one.

The Eagles finished the 2023 with a program-record tying 22 wins against only 14 losses. It was the first 20-win season for the program since 2012. Head Coach Terri Adams and her staff return a strong core of hitters and two of their top three pitchers. The Eagles had a very productive fall and are optimistic that the eight new players will strengthen both the line-up and the pitching staff while adding speed on the bases.

The Eagles are five weeks out from their opening competition in Florida. Their MAC Commonwealth season will start with a doubleheader at Widener on March 16.

With the departure of Lebanon Valley to the MAC Freedom, only the top four teams in the league will make the post-season tournament which will begin on May 2nd.
