LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As the Division III NCAA Softball Tournament got under way this past week, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its All-Region teams for 2025. For the First time in program history, eastern University Softball had three players earn All-Region recognition. Sophomores Ainsley O'Donnell and Danika Barthol each earned their second All-Region Honor, and first year catcher Emily Kurth was also named to the All-Region V squad.

O'Donnell battled injury all season, but still led the way at the top of the Eastern line-up with an impressive .504 on base percentage. The center fielder from Moscow, Pa. had eight doubles and a triple and worked a team-high 20 walks. In addition to her consistency at the top of the line-up, O'Donnell made the move to center and led a strong outfield defense.

Barthol also gets a nod for the Third Team. She allowed less than one hit per inning pitched and won 12 games in the circle while striking out 99 hitters in 110 innings. Including a pair of wins to start the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, she threw nine complete games.

Kurth made an impact from the start. Splitting time between catching and Designated Player, Kurth finished the year with an outstanding .373 average and a team-best 12 doubles while knocking in 34 runners. She picked up 13 hits and 11 RBIs in her first ten games. She had a 14-game hitting streak and for an 11-game stretch delivered at least one RBI in each game.

With dramatic wins over Worcester State and Williams, the Eagles reached a Regional Championship game for the first time in program history and set a new program-standard for wins with 31.
