WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - On Saturday, Eastern Track and Field competed at the Monarch Open at Kings College. The Eagles had three broken school records and multiple top-eight performances.
For the women,
Aliza White-Vega set a school record with a first-place finish in Pole Vault (3.35 meters), she broke her previous record of 3.34 meters.
Logan Martin finished second place in Javelin (37.42 meters). Martin's performance is a new school record and a new personal best from the original 34.70 meters she set in late April last year.Â
Other standout performances for the women,
Kelly Cummings finished fourth in the 3K Steeplechase, while
Rainee Wright finished fourth in the 400 Meter Hurdles and sixth in the 100 Meter Hurdles.
For the men,
Jean-Michelet Andre set a new school record, as he finished first in the 110 Meter Hurdles (15.53). Andre broke his previous personal record of 15.62 he notched in the Hopkins Loyola Invitational last weekend.Â
Other standout performances for the men,
Chandler Koehler set a new personal record with a second-place finish in the 100 Meter Dash (11.12). Koehler also finished second in the 200 Meter Dash.
DaNeal Williams took second in the 400 Meter Dash and finished fifth with a personal record in the 200 Meter Dash.
Troy Hicks finished fifth and
Amari Dickerson finished eight in the Long Jump.
"This was a great last performance before heading into the conference championship meet," Eastern Head Coach
Will Mills said. "We had some top performances today, a couple of school records fell, and we had fun, so we are happy as a staff. I'm excited to see what happens next week."
Eastern Track and Field will take part in the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 4 through Saturday, May 6 at York.
