EU Athlete In Focus: Megan Bernotas

Throughout the year, we will feature short interviews with Eastern University Athletes. Ian Roth, a senior pitcher on Eastern's baseball team, will conduct most of the interviews. While he will talk a good bit about sports, the goal of the series is to learn more about the different things Eastern University Athletes do on campus.

We start our second semester with some time with Megan Bernotas. The oldest of three sisters on Eastern's Track and Field and Cross Country Teams, Megan earned All-Mideast Honors in Cross Country this fall. While she raced to a third-place finish over the 6,000 meter MAC Cross Country course this fall, she is most comfortable in the middle distances.

In the 2018 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, she was part of a pair of gold medal relay teams, finished second in the open 800 meter run and took third in the mile. Her mile time last week was five seconds faster than the one she ran at the indoor championships. She takes some time to talk with Ian about running strategy and her life at Eastern.
