Men's Tennis Falls to King's

Box Score ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Ryan Torresin won a pair of matches, but Eastern University Men's Tennis dropped a 7-2 decision to the visiting King's College Monarchs (6-5, 3-0 MAC Freedom).

Torresin and doubles partner Karl Finkbeiner had an epic battle with the top Monarch pair at first doubles. Both Finkbeiner and Torresin ahd chances to serve out the match, but opponents from King's were up to the challenge and forced a tiebreaker. King's won the first point in the tiebreaker before the Eastern pair reeled off six consecutive points to seize control of the match. On the fifth of those points, Torresin had a shot for an overhead that the wind blew out of his reach. He recovered after swinging through the shot and fired a backhand winner that split the two King's players.

Torresin and Finkbeiner won the tiebreaker 7-4.

Torresin controlled his singles match and earned a 6-0, 6-4 win, but the Eagles were unable to claim another match through the remainder of the singles line-up.

The Eagles will host Delaware Valley on Wednesday.
