ROSEMONT, Pa. - Eastern Men's Tennis posted a 9-0 shutout victory over host Rosemont College on Friday afternoon. It is the Eagles fourth consecutive win moving them to 6-5 overall.

"The guys played well today and really did a nice job of controlling the match from start to finish," said Head Coach Mark Spangler. "It's our fourth win in a row and a great way to head into a very tough matchup against a great team on Saturday."

The Eagles swept through the doubles matches cleanly winning by scores of 8-0, 8-1, and 8-1. Ryan Ellison and Vusisizwe Ntonga stretched their doubles record to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

In the singles matches Eastern once again showed dominance winning in straight sets in all six matches and winning by shutout in four of them.

Grant Williams moved to 6-4 on the season while Mitchell Weaver advanced to 5-4 on the season in singles matches.

"I thought today was extremely helpful in preparing our guys for tomorrow's match," concluded Spangler. "We host the eight-time defending MAC Freedom Champions in Wilkes and need to be ready to battle. I think today will help with our mentality and focus heading into that match."
