LITITZ, Pa. - Eastern Men's Tennis claimed its second win in as many days defeating host Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday afternoon 6-3. The Eagles won four of the six singles matches including the first three to earn the victory.   

"Overall it was a good day for us, and everyone had a hand in the win," said Head Coach Mark Spangler. "The guys did a great job winning the opening doubles matches and carried the momentum into the singles matches to help us get this win."

Grant Williams and Mitchell Weaver won the first doubles match by the final of 8-5. Vusisizwe Ntonga and Ryan Ellison followed suit winning the second doubles match 8-4 moving them to 5-0 on the season when they are partners, winning twice when playing second doubles, and three times when third. 

"Both groups had solid matches," continued Spangler. "They did a nice job of controlling the tempo of the match and taking advantage of their opportunities." 

The Eagles carried the momentum over to the singles matches winning the first three matches. Williams and Weaver each won in straight sets by scores of 6-0, 6-1 to stretch the lead to 4-1. Jackson Wetherbee battled back to win the third single match after falling behind losing the first set 3-6. Wetherbee won the second set 6-1 and then claimed the decisive third set by the score of 10-8. 

"That was the match of the day," stated Spangler. "Jackson did a great job of battling back and falling behind early to earn that win and help seal the match for us." 

Eastern will host Wilkes University on April 16th at 1 pm.
