Men's Tennis Falls to Lebanon Valley

Box Score ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In the first match of the fall, Eastern Men's Tennis dropped a tough 7-2 decision to Lebanon Valley College.

Grant Williams won the lone singles match for the Eagles controlling the match start to finish and keeping his opponent off balance. Williams won by scores of 6-4 and 6-2 in the first singles match.

In the third singles match Christian Torres won the first set 6-0 before falling 10-7 in super-tiebreaker.

Jackson Wetherbee won his first collegiate doubles match as he and his partner Torres claimed an 8-5 victory. Head Coach Mark Spangler liked what he saw from both players saying "Wetherbee and Torres returned well today and played aggressive at the net finishing many points on overheads."

Spangler went on to say "I definitely saw us do some good things out there today. It was a match of missed opportunities and failing to close out games and sets. It was the first match of the fall, and it gives us something to build on. "

The Eagles will face Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday October 15th at 3:30PM at Gwynedd Mercy.
