WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Eastern Men's Tennis' winning streak was halted at five games after playing against perennial Freedom Conference powerhouse Wilkes University on Saturday.
The Wilkes Colonels, winners of six straight Freedom Championships, dispatched the Eagles 9-0.
Eastern's Dan Fowler had the closest match of the day at No. 2 singles, but he fell 6-2, 6-3.
The Eagles fell to 5-4 with the loss while Wilkes improved to 10-0.
On Monday, Eastern's Tyler Schultz will finish up Eastern's suspended match with Arcadia University. If Schultz wins his third set, the Eagles will take that match. Team play continues on Wednesday when the Eagles travel to FDU-Florham for a 3 p.m. Wednesday match.
