LITITZ, Pa.--Eastern Men's Tennis raced past the Lancaster Bible College Chargers on Monday afternoon 7-2.
With the convincing win, the Eagles improved to 6-6 this season.
The Eagles dropped No. 1 doubles as LBC's Alex Derus and Alex Ko edged Eastern's Grant Williams and Dan Fowler 9-7. Tyler Schultz and Landon Walter took an 8-4 win for Eastern in No. 2 doubles, and Kyle Berner and Mitchell Weaver won No. 3 doubles 8-1.
Eagles head coach Mark Spangler related after the match that he was impressed with the way Landon Walter battled to win his match in three sets. Walter won his first set 6-2, but dropped the second set 6-4. Walter held on to win the super tiebreaker 10-5.
Kyle Berner only lost one game in each match. He won his singles pairing 6-1, 6-0.
Eastern looks to stay alive in the Freedom Conference playoff hunt when they host Stevenson University on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
