Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Falls at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa.- Eastern University Women's Soccer's game at Lebanon Valley was moved up two hours to avoid heavy storms scheduled to sweep through Central Pennsylvania. The host Dutchmen took advantage of a slow start and jumped to an early 2-0 lead. The Eagles caught up to the game in the second half, but still fell by a 3-0 final.

The Eagles had a pair of chances in the opening minutes of the match, but LVC quickly recovered and began to create opportuities through the midfield. The Eastern defense fought off a couple early efforts, but a miscue on a clearing attempt at the midway point of the period gave the ball to LVC's Lindi Crist. The senior midfielder fired a quick shot from 25 yards out into the top right corner of the goal.

A little over five minutes later, the Dutchmen converted a penalty kick for a 2-0 edge.

"We lacked fight in the first half." Head Coach Dan Mouw stated. "We let them take space without pressure and we did not battle for 50-50 balls. We did much better in the second half, but we put ourselves in too big of a hole to work our way out."

The hosts scored their third goal in the 55th minute on a redirection of a cross and a one-time finish from Sarah Dowhower.

"All credit to them on the third goal," Mouw concluded. "They made a great play on the flank and in the box and the player who finished wasmarked tightly."

The Eagles (1-5-1) host Farmingdale State in another non-league contest this coming Tuesday.
