LANCASTER, Pa.- Eastern University Men's Tennis kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 5-4 come-from-behind win at Lancaster Bible College. Dan Fowler took points in both singles and doubles to lead the Eagles.

Fowler and Mylon Weaver earned an 8-3 win at first doubles, but the other two Eastern tandems fell to leave the Eagles down 2-1 heading into singles.

Fowler set the tone for singles play with a business-like 6-2, 6-2 win over Alex Derus. Grant Williams battled to a 7-5, 6-2 win at second singles.

The host Chargers took the point at sixth singles. Codie Todd won his first set handily, but had to battle through a 7-3 tie-breaker to take the second set 7-6.

With Mylon Weaver trailing badly at fourth singles, teh critical point of the match was on the shoulders of Tyler Schultz.

Schultz took the first set 6-2 but dropped the second set 7-5. The Eastern sophomore trailed 4-3 in the third before winning the final three games to pull out a 6-4 win in the third set to lift the Eagles to their third win of the spring.

Head coach Mark Spangler was very pleased with the toughness Schultz showed down the stretch to pull out the win.

"He played really well those last three games," Spangler commented, "we talked a good bit about not getting in a hole in doubles, but we will have to wait until next week to really work through some of those things in practice."

The Eagles, who saw yesterday's match against Cabrini suspended with two matches on the courts, continue their season-opening six-match road trip with their first league match at Stevenson University tomorrow afternoon.
