Men's Tennis Takes Care Of Neumann

ASTON, Pa.--Eastern Men's Tennis improved to 2-0 with a road win against Neumann University on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles defeated the Neumann Knights 6-3, winning the first two doubles matches and the top four singles matches.

The duo of Dan Fowler and Mylon Weaver earned an 8-4 doubles win. Tyler Schultz and Grant Williams won their doubles match 8-6. Schultz and Williams won five games in a row to take that match with Schultz finishing the match with a drop shot winner. Eagles' Jason Spargo and Codie Todd were edged nine games to seven.

In singles play, Eagles No. 1 Fowler cleaned up Dustin Broom 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Grant Williams took care of Neumann's No. 2 Travis Hall in a 6-2, 6-0 rout.

At the third spot, Tyler Schultz dropped his opening set 6-4 to Bryan Bodine, but responded with a 6-4 set win and a 10-6 tie-break win. In the four spot, Mylon Weaver cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win over Joel Maynard.

Senior Codie Todd took his first set against Todd Del Sordo, but was blanked in the second set. Del Sordo took the close tie-breaker by an 11-9 score.

In the sixth spot, Jason Spargo fell 8-3 to Jimmie Ferguson.

The Eagles host Wesley College on Thursday at 3 p.m.
