Weaver Wins Two; Eagles Fall 6-3

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Eastern Men's Tennis dropped a 6-3 home match to the Manhattanville College Valiants Saturday.

Eastern's No. 3 and No. 5 combo of Mylon Weaver and Tyler Schultz obliterated Manhattanville's No. 4/No.5 doubles team 8-0, but Tyler Hoagland and Jonny Shenk, and Herschel Dube and Codie Todd fell in doubles play 8-3 and 8-5.

Hoagland battled Manhattanville's Michael Capozzi, who placed second in the MAC individual tournament in the fall, in a 6-4, 6-2 loss.

Schultz, Shenk and Dube each lost their singles matches, but Weaver earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory, and Codie Todd earned another win, going 2-6, 6-3, 10-6.

Coach Mark Spangler noted that Weaver only had his serve broken once during his singles victory and that he was controlling points from the baseline.

The Eagles play Cabrini on Wednesday and FDU-Florham on Saturday.
