ST. DAVIDS, Pa.- Eastern University Men's Tennis picked up an 
important result in the Freedom Conference with a convincing 8-1 home 
win over Misericordia University this afternoon. The victory moves the 
Eagles (8-4, 2-1 Freedom) closer to a spot in the league post-season 
tournament.
Michael Roth and Bryan Arnett again set the pace at 
the top of the order.  The two earned a hard-fought 8-5 win at first 
doubles before Arnett Cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at second singles 
and Roth ground out an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win over a tough opponent at 
the top spot.
"Michael was very impressive today, Head Coach Mark 
Spangler remarked, "He controlled points from the baseline and he had to
battle a very strong opponent to pick up the win. This was a good 
conference win for us."
Dan WIison and Tyler Hoagland rebounded 
from a tough loss at second doubles to claim their respective singles 
matches. Wilson won 6-3, 6-4 in his match and Hoagland ground out a 7-5,
6-4 win at #4. Jonny Shenk and Ryan Dykstra also claimed double wins 
for the Eagles.
Eastern hosts Messiah College on Wednesday and 
Wesley college on Thursday before returning to league action at Wilkes 
on Saturday.
