After over a week lay off, the Eastern University men's tennis team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles traveled to Purchase, N.Y. to take on the Valiants of Manhattanville College for their Freedom Conference opener. The Valiants turned out to be too much for the Eagles as they swept the visitors 9-0.

"Manhattanville is one of the best teams in our conference," remarked head coach Mark Spangler. "Its disappointing to start our conference season like this, but we return home on Thursday and Saturday and we'll look to get back on the winning track then."

The Eagles take on Lancaster Bible College at 3:30 on Thursday, April 8. On Saturday, April 10, the Eagles will resume conference play as they host FDU-Florham at 1:00 PM.
