The Eastern University men's tennis team earned their first Freedom Conference victory with a convincing 9-0 win over DeSales University Thursday afternoon.

Michael Roth teamed with Jordan Gates to win 8-0 at the top doubles spot. He then bounced back to take the top singles spot without dropping a game. Gates won his singles match 6-2, 6-0. Bryan Arnett and Taylor Kiser teamed to win 8-4 at second doubles and each won their singles matches in two sets. Josh Hall and Dan Wilson earned an 8-4 win at third doubles. 

Wilson had to rally to beat the Buldogs' Seth Conklin after dropping the first set 6-3. The Eastern junior ultimately won at five 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Sean McGuinness won his singles match in two as well. Eastern coach Mark Spangler was pleased with his team's effort and hopes that they will be able to carry the momentum into the remainder of their league schedule.

Eastern returns to action on Tuesday at Alvernia.
